AGRICULTURE AND BREEDING: when being a Cooperative makes the difference
More than 70 member breeders ensure over 10.000 hectares of cultivated area, from where come the raw material for the pigs’ fodder. Fundamental to obtain an excellent meat is the feeding of the pigs and the quality of their farming conditions.
High quality maize, wheat and barley are the base of the pigs’ natural fodder. Being able to obtain this directly from the fields of the associated breeders allows us to always have a controlled quality product and to ensure the traceability of the animals’ forage and consequently to enrich and complete the traceability of the product that comes to the consumer’s dish.
This, in addition to the care for Animal Welfare and to the unceasing research and improving of the agricultural processes, ensures very high quality standards of the pork meat.
This is exactly why PRO SUS has made the commitment to create its own farming protocol and have it signed by all the associated; this protocol precisely indicates and fixes all the standards that the breeders must follow.
